AB O U T
I began painting at five years of age.  Interested in my cousin’s jewelry business, I majored in geology at the University of Michigan, and also worked on the Michigan Daily.  When I married a law student, Martin Adelman, I switched to medicine.

While a teaching fellow in geology at Wayne State University, I took courses in the art department.   I attended the Wayne State University School of Medicine, with internship and surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital and pediatric surgery fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

The first woman president of the Michigan State Medical Society and the Wayne County Medical Society, I was on the AMA Board of Trustees.   I edited the Detroit Medical News and wrote a monthly column in AMNews for many years.  I served on the board of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and was president of a physician labor organization.  I have published over 40 articles and over 300 columns and editorials.

I always have been an artist.  After I retired from surgery I became a silversmith, and i started a business selling my work.  Now I am proud to offer my jewelry and paintings for your purchase.  The sculpture gallery is here for you to enjoy.

In 2014, PenguinRandom House published my first book, The Rebel: A biography of Ram Jethmalani, the life of the most famous lawyer-politician-law professor in India and a close personal friend until his death in 2019 at age 95.   In 2018 Gorgias Press published my second book, After Saturday Comes Sunday.  The title is a saying in the Middle East meaning: after we finish the Saturday people, we will finish the Sunday people.  Both are available through my Amazon author page, and the second book is also available directly through Gorgias Press.   Contact me: [email protected]
